Montreal – Where Cultures Collide

Back when I had first gotten out of college and I didn’t have all those pesky little responsibilities like student loans, car payments, or paying energysavings.com bills, I used to travel all the time and one of my favorite destinations was a little city just north of the border known as Montreal.

Montreal is a veritable cultural hub of a city offering all the modern conveniences many people from the States would come to expect while also providing a cultural experience that is decidedly different. Most people living in this bustling metropolis are bilingual (French and English languages) but you will still find echoes of the past through the customs, food, mannerisms, attitudes and everything else tracing back to French heritage.

Many different cultures call Montreal home including a Muslim community that is still in its infancy and if you are looking for a great place to party then Montreal is the place. These people know how to celebrate and whether it’s the Jazz Festival or the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, you’re sure to see folks young and old dancing in the streets and just plain having a good time. Just because Canada and Montreal happen to be north of the United States doesn’t mean you won’t find an experience far from ordinary.
